There are a few ways to clean your roof tiles no matter what they are made of, there is also a few ways that could potentially damage your roof like high powered pressure washing or the use of a very strong bleaching chemical, that will kill the moss but will offer no lasting protection. The people using this chemical often buy a cheaper non label compliant product meaning if something did go wrong they may not be insured.

At HD Window Cleaning we only use the best products that are recommended and safe to use on your property, we often opt for the more eco friendly option which will offer on going protection but will take longer to see the full results.

The standard process is as follows:-

• We will always come to your property to do the quote as we would need to measure the roof and talk about the options available. We will do a thorough roof inspection before we start and advise you of the outcome.
• We will decide on the best method and access.
• We will then start by removing the moss from your roof, often using scrapers that are designed to fit the contour of your roof tiles.
• Once all the moss is removed, we will then take another look for any damages that we may not of been able to see before, due to the moss build up. Then we will clear all your guttering and pathways of debris. 
• When that is done we will give your roof a coat of biocide which will soak in and kill any left over moss and lichen. Over the next few months you will notice your roof getting cleaner and cleaner.

Once this process is complete your roof will be protected from moss and lichen for a few years to come.

Then we can come back and re-treat it when you start noticing regrowth at a fraction of the original cost as it will not need scraping again.
